Minimum Qualifications:
- Has a minimum of 2 years in related field.
- Has a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Is able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Possesses sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Has the ability to demonstrate basic computer skills required to support pendant system.
- Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis.
- Has the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Maintains a valid state driver’s license and auto insurance coverage.
- Able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, clients, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, and the general public in a fast-paced work environment.
- Is able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the community.
As General Maintenance Staff you can expect to:
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs of the community and equipment, observing all safety standards and policies.
- Performs limited troubleshooting within scope of abilities.
- Assists with preventive maintenance duties including but not limited to filter changes, lubrication of motors, etc.
- Assists skilled personnel in skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, etc.
- Participates fully in ERS’s Emergency and Disaster Plan, including assisting in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
- Carries cell phone for emergency conditions as assigned and On Call shifts, and responds immediately when called.
- Observes all safety policies and reports all incidents or accidents to manager or supervisor.
- Maintains the resident pendant alert system (pendant logs and preventative maintenance software).
- Commits to aligning behavior in accordance with the ERS Core Values and Ways of Working.
