SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate, Strategic Initiatives will partner with the CEO, senior leadership, and functional/market leaders to prioritize, oversee and drive top strategic initiatives across the business. The Associate will lead and/or support various projects simultaneously across FirstKey Homes to improve operating and financial performance. The Associate will immerse themselves into the business environment to fully understand operations and streamline workflows.
Team members selected for this role will have the opportunity to work within a fast paced, high growth, energetic company. Team members will rotate through multiple projects and engage in full project lifecycle from initial assessment to implementation of recommended solutions. They will have exposure working in various business units and will frequently interact with leadership to provide their innovative insights and solutions. Opportunities to extend work assignments upon completion of strategic initiative projects may include growing into a role with direct reports, pursuing leadership career paths within interested departments or other emerging opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lead and/or support multiple projects simultaneously, in collaboration with Executive Champions and the First Key Homes Office of Strategic Initiatives, to improve organizational operating and financial performance. Partner with Executive Champions to understand project scopes, timelines and to identify workflows, necessary resources and risks.
- Immerse oneself into departments to fully understand FirstKey Homes' strategies, business model and nuances of operations. Review and build workflows, procedures and policies to assess strengths and gaps of operations.
- Leverage organizational resources to review workstreams for inefficiencies and conduct root causes analysis. Coordinate interviews and job shadowing with team members to fully understand work practices. Learn and navigate various FirstKey Homes' technology platforms to locate data sources.
- Identify, extract and aggregate data from technology platforms with assistance from IT resources when necessary. Manage and analyze large data sets using Microsoft Excel or Structured Query Language (SQL) to evaluate current processes and isolate problem areas. Test and validate models and results.
- Develop evidence-based solutions and prepare reports and/or presentations that outline and rank proposed solutions and present a range of possible alternatives to facilitate complex decision-making with process owners.
- Prepare and participate in presenting strategy documents, models and analyses to various levels of management, including operating managers and executives, board members and private equity team members.
- Report relevant insights to stakeholders and provide recommended solutions to optimize performance such as incorporating automated technologies or building departmental operating and reporting structures.
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders weekly and record updates in project management tracking software. Address changes to project scopes, timelines and resources. Resolve and escalate any issues that arise.
- Present findings and solutions to executives and board of directors. Lead and/or support implementation of approved solutions and collaborate with IT resources when necessary.
- Partner with internal teams such as Learning & Development and Technology Enablement to document procedures, create job aids and other supporting content to ensure team members understand and adhere to enhanced workflows.
- Proactively scan the business environment continuously to identify projects that will enhance business operations and reduce organizational inefficiencies.
- Interview, job shadow and travel to markets to develop a broader understanding of operational and financial challenges that team members are facing.
- Ad hoc projects to support the CEO, senior leadership team or private equity team members.

WORKING CONDITIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience and/or education
- 2 - 4 years' experience working in an analytical role for a consulting firm, bank, or corporate function
- Advance proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proven ability to interface and present information to executives and board of directors
- Proven ability to act as a business partner and influence organizational practices to achieve organizational goals
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Management consulting or banking experience a plus
- Familiarity with interactive data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Ability to use structured query language (SQL) to pull and analyze large datasets
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics
- Experience or desire to work in a fast pace, high-growth company
