Your Job Map
This job contributes to REI’s success by leading the Employee Services department, ensuring exceptional service delivery across HR content management, call center operations, and employee relations. This role is foundational to REI’s employee experience, providing a centralized point of contact for employees to access help, information, and resources related to HR policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, and other employment-related inquiries. By integrating REI’s values into every aspect of employee services, this position strengthens our commitment to our employees and our mission.
Responsibilities:
Leading the Way

Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote REI key messages.

Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.

Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.

Oversees training and development of employees managed and makes effective staffing recommendations.

Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.

Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to employees to achieve department, company and customer results.

Establishes and maintains visibility within the department.

Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action.
Your Planning & Navigating Requirements

Manage and oversee the Employee Services, setting operational goals that align with the company’s priorities.

Develop and deploy comprehensive employee relations strategies that align with the company’s culture and business goals.

Manage cross-functional initiatives to improve HR service delivery models, incorporating innovative solutions and technologies to enhance the employee experience.

Oversee the management of employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters. Install effective resolution strategies that lessen legal risks and maintain positive employee relations. Ensure that all cases are handled in a fair, consistent and efficient way.

Work with senior leadership, managers, and HRBPs to advise on complex employee relations issues, ensuring alignment with the company’s values and goals. Act as a credible advisor and mediator to resolve high-level disputes.

Assess trends in employee relations cases to identify patterns, potential areas for improvement, and the effectiveness of current policies and practices. Use insights to drive strategic recommendations and policy revisions.

Review department performance metrics to identify trends, make informed recommendations, and adjust strategies as necessary to meet evolving business needs.
Required Skills & Experience

Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, employee relations practices, and conflict resolution techniques.

Proven leadership and people management skills, with an emphasis on empathy, fairness, and decisiveness.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relational skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations.

Strategic thinking and data-based skills to interpret data and trends, leading to informed conclusions and policy improvements.

Builds capacity of team members and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and supervision efforts.

Preferred Qualifications
-
10+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Employee Service Delivery, and/or HR Shared Services call/support center.

5+ years people management experience.

Base Pay Range: USD $122,800.00 - USD $208,700.00 /Yr.
