Summary: Drive and operate a straight tank or box truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). May be required to load and unload truck. Requires commercial (Class B) driver’s license.
Essential duties of Position:
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
- Perform the end-of-day loading and fueling procedures on a daily basis.
- Comply with the Superior Family of Companies’ safety & health policies and procedures.
- Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Participate in process improvements, investigations, and corrective actions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:
- The capability of maneuvering a fifty-five (55) gallon drum of product from the truck to the customer’s desired location, with a drum cart and the approximate weight being between 300 – 600 pounds.
- Ability to pump out product from client location to tank truck
- The ability to climb in and out of a trailer numerous time a day.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- One to three years verifiable related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pass required drug test and physical capabilities test.
- Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class B or A, including current medical card, and equipment certifications as by State and/or Federal regulations.
- DOT qualified.
