DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Center for Reconstructive Surgery at UW Medical Center - Montlake provides an array of general reconstructive and plastic surgical services. We provide the full spectrum of breast reconstruction including autologous and implant options, and surgical options for lymphedema as part of the Lymphedema Network at UW, a regional center of excellence. We provide comprehensive oncologic reconstruction, including resection and reconstruction of skin tumors, and sarcoma reconstruction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
Perform injections
Prepare and clean exam rooms
Submit medication prior authorizations
Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
Assist in transporting patients as required
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
