Job Summary: We are looking for a Packaging Technician to join our team! As a Packaging Technician, your primary responsibility will be to work in a fast paced environment both filling and placing packaging, this job requires the ability to learn multiple machines. Accuracy and high attention to detail is paramount for this position in order to support the activities and operations of the Packaging/Labeling Dept.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for executing all assigned packaging operations including Daily Cleaning Tasks, filling out work orders, Material Transport (within the facility), Filling, weighing, counting, Labeling, and sealing.
· Maintaining full compliance with local, state, and federal licensing requirements.
· Operating sensitive precision scales, using proper calibration, and measuring techniques.
· Following necessary sanitizing procedures.
· Operating cartridge filling machine.
· Operating a Flow Wrapper machine.
· Taking the necessary precautions to prevent potential cross-contaminations using provided PPE and sanitation procedures prior to entering the Packaging Room and/or handling plant material.
· Weighing concentrated medical marijuana products with extreme precision to reach the goal weight for each product with extraordinarily little margin for error- this includes proper documentation of weight throughout the filling process.
· Placing COA’s with extreme caution to prevent covering any necessary information and ensuring all information on the label is visible.
· Maintain open communication with the Packaging Manager and other co-workers.
· Report employee issues or product situations to the Packaging Manager.
· Responsible for following all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information, and policies when performing duties.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow SOPs (standard operating procedures), maintain accurate records, and ensure data integrity.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
· Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Commit yourself to treating every individual with respect and dignity.
· Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to management
· Able to work well in an environment that your actions have a direct effect on the rest of the team (I.E. assembly line)
- Comfortable with machinery and packaging equipment.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out moderately complex, multi-step instructions.
· Ability to work swiftly and productively, both independently and in a team environment
· Must be able to pass an OAC 3796 background check
Physical Requirements
· The employee is frequently required to sit/stand and work for 6+ hours each shift
· The employee is frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or reach
· The employee is required to safely lift and/or move up to 25lbs on a frequent basis
· Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Stipulation of employment is passing an OHIO BCI and FBI background check in accordance with ORC/OAC 3796.
Employees are not allowed to work on the premises until the badge is activated in the Ohio Department of Medical Marijuana e-Licensing portal.

Pay: $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
