Job Summary: The Job Site Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all job sites. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and extensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the plumbing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and update safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of job sites to identify potential hazards.
- Implement corrective actions to address safety concerns and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Training and Education:
- Conduct safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing safety education programs.
- Ensure all employees are knowledgeable about safety procedures and emergency response plans.
- Provide specialized training for specific job site hazards and equipment.
- Incident Management:
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Maintain detailed records of all incidents, safety inspections, and training activities.
- Prepare and submit required safety reports to management and regulatory agencies.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Stay updated on current safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Ensure all job sites comply with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize workplace hazards.
- Communication and Leadership:
- Act as a liaison between management, employees, and regulatory agencies regarding safety matters.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all employees.
- Lead safety committee meetings and provide regular updates on safety performance and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety management role, preferably in the construction or plumbing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and influence others to prioritize safety.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to conduct job site inspections, which may involve walking, standing, climbing ladders, and accessing confined spaces.
