Job Title: Customer Service - Deck Ambassador

Job Description:
As a Deck Ambassador at our swim school, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our students and their families. Your responsibilities encompass various tasks related to pool deck set up and management, customer service, and supporting the overall operations of the program.
Responsibilities:
- Pool Deck Set Up/Clean Up and Management:
- Prepare the pool deck area before classes begin, ensuring it is clean, organized, and safe for all participants.
- Arrange necessary equipment and materials needed for classes and activities according to schedule and instructor requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pool deck throughout the day, including regular checks and tidying up as needed.
- Assist with deck area clean up at the end of lessons.
- Student and Family Welcome and Check-In:
- Greet students and their families upon arrival, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist with the check-in process, ensuring accuracy of attendance records and addressing any inquiries or concerns from parents or guardians.
- Provide information about class schedules, upcoming events, and facility policies as needed.
- Creating Welcome Bags:
- Prepare welcome bags for new students, including necessary information, promotional materials, and any additional items to enhance their experience.
- Ensure that welcome bags are stocked and readily available for distribution to new enrollees.
- Processing Class Advancements:
- Assist in processing class advancements for students based on their skill level and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievements and advancements, updating databases or systems accordingly.
- Merchandise Sales:
- Promote and sell merchandise available at the facility, such as swim rings, apparel, and accessories. Sale and input of move-up caps required with advancement of students.
- Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons, addressing their needs, concerns, and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively, seeking resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist Instructors with Class Management:
- Support swim instructors during classes by assisting with group organization, equipment setup, and student supervision.
- Serve as an extra set of eyes and hands to ensure the safety and smooth flow of classes, particularly during busy periods or in classes with students needing extra support.
- Interest in Becoming Swim Instructor/Lifeguard Trained (optional, but desired)
- Participate in swim instructor and lifeguard training programs to acquire necessary certifications and skills to fill in as an instructor as needed.
- Learn and demonstrate proficiency in water safety, rescue techniques, CPR, first aid, and other essential lifeguarding skills.
- Receive comprehensive instruction in the British Swim School teaching methodologies and techniques to prepare for potential instructor duties as needed.
- Swim Instructor/Lifeguard Training:
- Participate in swim instructor and lifeguard training programs to acquire necessary certifications and skills.
- Learn and demonstrate proficiency in water safety, rescue techniques, CPR, first aid, and other essential lifeguarding skills.
- Receive comprehensive instruction in swim teaching methodologies and techniques to prepare for eventual instructor roles.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and managing inventory.
- Prior experience in customer service, retail sales, or hospitality preferred.
- Knowledge of swimming or aquatic activities is a plus.
