DigiKey Resident Maintenance Technicians work exclusively on the machines that make the magic happen. As an RMT, you will leverage your industrial Electrical/Mechanical expertise on a team working to maximize equipment utilization and efficiency. Your advanced technical knowledge will be key to success in this position.
Focus:
- Electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated equipment expertise, including the knowledge of 480vac, 240vac, 120vac, and 48vdc, 24vdc, VFDs, and PLCs (Siemens preferred).
- Work on KNAPP supplied automation in the PDCE (Product Distribution Center) in Thief RIver Falls.
- This position will service and support one of the largest installations of its kind in the world on the newest generation of automated fulfillment equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Rectify electro-mechanical faults and resolve PLC related issues. Provide expert knowledge and guidance while maintaining a focus on safety
- Provide experience and expertise in the installation of conveyor and precision automation equipment
- Provide first class support on operation and maintenance of installed automated storage and retrieval systems, and storage and picking systems
- Respond, track, record and triage any problems or emergency calls and requests
- Provide emergency breakdown and specialized maintenance service support; work against timelines to complete reactive repairs
- Provide first-class response to customer inquiries and requests, in conjunction with the customers on-site maintenance department, ensuring, as far as reasonably practical, to do the job right the first time
- Set up and calibrate precision automation equipment
- Provide training related to the overall system to DigiKey employees as required

Key Qualifications:
- Required Education: GED or High School Diploma
- Desired Education: Associates degree in Electrical, or Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Technology
Work experience:
- Mechanical/Electrical systems maintenance experience, verifiable progressive experience as Maintenance Repairman, Maintenance Electrician, Machine Repairman, or Industrial Maintenance Engineering
Physical Requirements:
- Physical requirements may be: Sitting, squatting, walking, reaching out to arm’s length, reaching over-head, lifting between 50-100 pounds, and reading.
