GENERAL SUMMARY:
Maintains relationships with dog foster homes. Coordinates the logistics of dogs in RPM’s program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must have Animal Rescue experience and be Dog savvy - applications without this experience will not be considered
- The schedule for this role is Sunday-Thursday.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and serve as primary contact for foster volunteers
- Serve as primary contact for foster volunteers regarding vetting appointments, medical emergencies, refoster requests, and miscellaneous fostering needs in a timely manner.
- Facilitate movement of shelter dogs into foster care & outside vetting, utilizing foster volunteers or self-transporting if needed.
- Monitor health and behavior of animals in foster care and report any important findings/issues to medical personnel and rescue team.
- Counsel/demonstrate the management or solution for basic behavioral issues (with a focus on positive reinforcement techniques)
- Develop and maintain advanced or specialized foster parent training programs to ensure continual growth of foster base
- Update the Rescue team and clinic staff about movement of dogs in and out of the clinic. Keep database current on dog locations
- Coordinate with management, rescue team & clinic to move foster dogs through our transport & rescue programs, ensuring they receive all necessary care required for a particular outcome
- Keep all staff up to date on changes to foster programs & ensure that staff are providing accurate information to foster volunteers
- Creating new inventory lists via NFG for our Clinic, Boarding, & BARC Holds to help showcase our animals in need for volunteers daily
- Loading fosters up with new supplies and plenty of support along the way
- Take time to meet and get to know the behaviors of the animals in our care so that we can determine an appropriate foster home
- Keep all foster materials and programs up to date, and provide appropriate orientation materials, manuals, and handouts to all foster volunteers
- Follow up with long-term fosters regularly to ensure their satisfaction and compliance with our foster programs and service
- Manage the RPM Foster Network Facebook group
- Uphold RPM’s values and mission statement during interactions with the public and other staff
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested in regards to the dogs and the success of the dog program

Pay: Up to $40,000.00 per year
