As the Senior II Trainer/Training Material Specialist you will create and deliver training documentation, and provide support to the Program Office in which you will conduct analysis of training courses/products, which includes course goals, course prerequisites, proposed training delivery methods, target audiences, durations, and proposed schedules.
You will complete a course design for each training course, to include job tasks/job competencies-based analysis (as applicable), OJT requirements, lesson/learning objectives, assessment approaches (e.g., knowledge checks, practice exercises, end of course evaluation), and a detailed, thorough course outline (course design) with references to applicable FAA regulations, policy or guidance.
The Senior II Trainer/Training Material Specialist will complete course design for applicable support products, to include detailed outlines of the product (e.g., structure, narration scripts, design elements, graphics/images, closed captioning) in accordance with the Dynamic Regulatory System (DRS).
You will meet virtually with the workgroup SMEs to accomplish development work, and provide First Drafts creations of course content from the CDG, in the form of storyboards (WBT course), lesson plans (ILT courses), or other forms as directed.
You must obtain a preliminary understanding of the subject matter from the Analysis/Design phase and a thorough review of the source material (e.g., policy, guidance documents, business process flows, automation screen shots or mock-ups).
As the Senior II Trainer/Training Material Specialist you will be involved in development meetings, in which you will present the First Drafts of the material developed to that point to workgroup SMEs. You will develop the Alpha (WBT, Support Product, other) or Walk-Through (ILT, VILT, other delivery methods) version of each course/product, as applicable, to support a comprehensive review with SMEs. You will address all items flagged for remediation, and submit revised deliverables as required.
Senior II Trainer/Training Material Specialist support also includes the implementation of training courses and products to support the deployment of the new policy, business processes and automation to the FS workforce. You are required to develop the Operational Tryout version of instructor-led courses or products as directed. You will also be required to develop and deliver a complete Beta (WBT, Product Support, other) or Prototype (ILT, VILT, other delivery methods) version of the training course or product.
The Senior II Trainer/Training Material Specialist will follow AFB-500 policies and procedures and develop the Final Course Materials for delivery, as well as deliver all course materials and support products, including source files for all graphics, to the AFB-500 Project Manager in electronic form.
You will complete and deliver a Course Design Guide (Final version)/Product Design Guide (Final version), as well as provide a Training Course/Support Product Release Announcement to support the release of each training course and support product.
Some travel to the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, or to other FAA offices in the United States may be required.
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, Journalism, History, or Political Science required.
