Description:
First Steps Academy is looking for an individual who is detail oriented, friendly and enjoys being around children to be our Receptionist. This person would be answering phones and greeting families. This position regularly gets hug from lots of preschool children, but also knows a little bit about all parts of what we do in order to respond to parents’ questions and concerns. This position also frequently helps out in the classrooms. This person needs to be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, speak English fluently to answer phones and be flexible with change. Reliability is very important!

Answer telephone and email to provide information regarding school hours, offered courses and enrollment and registration procedures.

Maintain confidential record of all parent/student interviews, test results, recommendations, child study meetings and individual counseling sessions with the students. Indication of these records should be included in each student’s permanent file.

Keep all permanent records for students and be responsible for their organization and yearly update of various forms, including educational and health forms

Provide transcripts to other centers/schools from former students and students applying to other schools upon request.

Establish and maintain a comprehensive records system for students, including withdrawals and graduates; prepares folders and forms, and enters subjects, grades, credits, test information, unit summary, and summary of attendance.

Support the Assistant Director and Director with other tasks as assigned including substituting in the classrooms with various age groups.

Requirements:
- High school diploma preferred

Read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Must be detail-oriented and can organize and handle multiple projects with little supervision.

Experience working with children preferred.
