Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Metals Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in metal types, market trends, procurement and selling strategies. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and selling various types of metals from a diverse supplier/customer base. This role demands a strategic thinker with a keen eye for market opportunities and a passion for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and engage with potential suppliers to secure competitive and reliable sources of metal scrap, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain developments.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve favorable deals that align with company objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, ensuring accurate material identification and settlement review.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to coordinate the timely and cost-effective transportation of metals.
- Administer the entire sale process for brokered transactions
- Manage buyers risk through hedging arrangements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transactions, supplier information, and market data.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and seminars to expand professional network and enhance market knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience with Business Development, preferably in the metals recycling industry.
- Strong understanding of metal types, recycling processes, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and any relevant purchasing software.
- Ability to analyze market data and make informed business decisions.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
