An experienced Electrical & Instrumentation CAD Designer is needed to team up with our engineers to prepare and oversee power distribution drawings, electrical layouts, installation details, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, panel design, and cable and conduit schedules for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects. An ideal candidate has a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with typical electrical and instrumentation engineering design and terminology. They possess a willingness to undertake roles as needed and learn new skills and tools.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting of electrical and controls design for municipal and public works projects, as well as private development, working within a defined project scope and budget
- Draft construction drawings with a focus on water, wastewater, and transportation projects. Collaborate with team members throughout the organization to gain information needed
- Draft panel design drawings including layout, BOM, and wiring, conforming to UL 508A
- Perform basic engineering calculations. Apply National Electric Code to design
- Prepare documents using AutoCAD and Revit conforming to company standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Associates degree in electrical engineering technology or 3+ years electrical and controls computer aided drafting experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required. Revit or Microstation experience preferred
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to personally manage several projects
- Decision-making skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers to solve complex problems
