Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as pouring impressions and trimming models
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using CAD and Epic software
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the office's appointment calendar
- Handle administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls and managing patient billing
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program
- X-ray certification (if required by state)
- Knowledge of medical coding and medical records management
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well with a team and provide exceptional patient care
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
