Position Description
The Operations Manager defines and prioritizes the daily production activities. They create, implement and ensure processes and practices are performed consistently and in accordance/compliance with company and insurance standards. The operations manager is responsible for the performance and execution of the restoration team to deliver on the metrics while providing an exceptional customer experience. This position requires a hands-on approach in the field with staff, customers and insurance
personnel.
The Operations Manager interfaces with the Estimator to create project estimates and customer invoices. The operations manager is required to have extensive experience in mitigation and restoration of building materials and personal property affected by wind, water, fire, smoke and other property damage causes.
Roles and Responsibilities

Coordinates the production, procurement, and planning of daily project operations to meet performance metrics and project schedules

Requires immediate response to emergency/catastrophic events and physical reconstruction restoration

Supervises and trains production staff including approval of time sheets and expenses

Ensures timely, compliant, and accurate management of work order processes, business information, and licensing management

Participates in the identification, development, and implementation of operational and business processes management

Conducts onsite field operations/audits for quality and compliance to regulatory and company policies.

Review project documentation record accuracy including scoping, notes, photos, and software uploads

Provides direct support and oversite regarding customer, insurance, or adjuster commitments, escalations, technical questions, and project status

Selects vendors and manages vendor relationships for reconstruction restoration

Responsible for the compliance to safety procedures and PPE usage

Coordinate employee training to ensure the ability to execute tasks

Examine project financial data to achieve/improve profitability

Participates in the performance management system to facilitate teamwork and employee growth including reviews, training/certification, and disciplinary actions for the operations staff

Manages internal assets of the company such as equipment, materials, and supplies to ensure maintenance and availability

Reviews workloads and manpower to ensure targets are achieved.
Skill Requirements
-
Equivalent of 5-10 years’ experience in a restoration managerial role, both in mitigation and reconstruction. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operational management or finance preferred.

Demonstrated leadership within an operations role to manage cost and profitability

Able to analyze, interpret, and create general business processes as well as federal, state, and local rules and regulations

Able to train, inform, and respond to questions from employees and customers assigned to your charge
-
Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

Skilled in the use of computers or necessary technology including Microsoft Office products
-
Experienced in the use of Restore356, Xactimate, and XactAnalysis and reporting to estimate and manage projects desired

Detailed knowledge in the insurance restoration and reconstruction industry
-
Communicate effectively with customers, insurance companies, and adjusters.

Work effectively with senior management to resolve issues and develop process solutions

Demonstrated experience in supervising and building a team environment that motivates to achieve expected results

Experience estimating and cost control

Strong suppliers/sub-contractors/vendors negotiating/management skills
-
Organized and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, process improvement, and communication skills
Certifications preferred:
ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician
FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
OCT – Odor Control Technician
WRT – Water Damage Restoration Technician

Incumbent must be prepared to:

React 24 hours a day seven days a week to customer emergencies or catastrophic events

Move up to 70 pounds often, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.

Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, squatting, crawling, and crouching are required.

For safety reasons, use of appropriate PPE to avoid situational hazards must be used for example respirators, gloves, etc.

Exposure to various inside and outside working and environmental conditions
