Job Summary:
The Retirement Plan Reconciliation & Compliance Support Specialist role is responsible for reconciling retirement plan accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and providing essential support to our administration / compliance team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular reconciliations of retirement plan accounts in excel, including contributions, distributions, and investment transactions.
- Manage relationships with retirement plan recordkeepers, including downloading reports and ensuring timely and accurate import into compliance software.
- Oversee quarterly loan payment processes for retirement plan participants, ensuring compliance with plan terms and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or irregularities in retirement plan balances.
- Generate excel reports showing retirement plan reconciliations including cash flow for the plans. Advanced excel knowledge is required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with retirement plan regulations, including ERISA and IRS guidelines.
- Support the compliance team in conducting audits and reviews of retirement plan activities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address any issues related to retirement plan administration and compliance.
- Stay on top of changes in retirement plan laws, regulations, and industry best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Proven experience working with financial software and conducting reconciliations
- Familiarity with ACH processes and best practices
- Knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, securities law, public accounting principles, and COSO framework
- Experience in fraud prevention detection within a corporate accounting environment
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines
- Prior experience in reconciliation within a financial setting is a plus
