We are currently searching for a talented Drainage Engineer in Training (E.I.) to support our growing Southeast Region. This position will be based in Maitland, FL. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate who would like to grow his/her career in the transportation and drainage design field and work on major infrastructures that are viable and an important part of our communities.
The successful candidate will assist a team of Engineers, Planners, Scientists, and other Professional and Support staff on a variety of projects including drainage design, engineering studies, transportation infrastructure, environmental permitting, and resiliency projects.
What you’ll be doing:

Assists with various assignments for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities

Performs engineering deliverables associated with Drainage and roadway infrastructure improvements

Assists and prepares project plans using the latest CADD software including but not limited to MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and/or AutoCADD, among others
-
Contributes to the preparation and/or modification of engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects
-
Works with senior staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation and drainage related projects

Performs the design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements

Prepares and assists in the preparation of project construction quantities, details, cost estimates and the preparation of project specifications

Reviews project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance to project requirements

Prepare and assist in the preparation of project schedules

Collaborating across multiple disciplines, piers, and other professionals to successfully deliver quality projects within budget and schedule

Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to have:
-
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
-
EIT (E.I) Certification is desired (or the commitment to acquire it within 1-year)

A minimum of 0 - 2 years of engineering experience

Experience with (or strong willingness to learn) MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, StormCAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS and/or SUDA software (among other software)

Previous FDOT/Municipal experience is a plus

Prior knowledge of FDOT standards is plus
