Job Opportunity: Legal Counsel at Nevada Association of Employers
Are you a legal professional with a passion for employment law? Nevada Association of Employers (NAE) is actively seeking a Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. As a full-time Legal Counsel at NAE, you will play a pivotal role in assisting our members with a wide range of employment law matters, from short-term projects to ongoing support. We are looking for individuals with expertise in both federal and Nevada state employment law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with NAE members to provide effective solutions for their Human Resources needs.
- Develop, draft, review, and revise member policies, procedures, forms, and templates to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Offer expert HR advice to members on various employment law topics, including hiring, termination, discipline, leave management, wage and hour issues, discrimination, non-compete agreements, confidentiality, no-solicitation and severance agreements, reductions in force, job classifications, and independent contractor status.
- Conduct HR reviews, audits, and provide guidance to ensure HR compliance and best practices.
- Participate in member special projects, including internal investigations and regulatory agency complaints or audits.
- Respond promptly to member inquiries and service requests.
- Deliver training to both management and employees on legal compliance topics, such as harassment awareness, employment law, and leave administration.
- Actively inform members about other valuable NAE services and products.
- Exhibit professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions.
- Engage in NAE meetings, industry seminars, and continuing education courses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Competencies and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in federal and Nevada state employment law.
- Experience advising employees at all levels, including managers and executive teams.
- Versatility in working with diverse industries and organizations of varying sizes.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex HR and business-related topics.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks while multitasking effectively.
- A collaborative spirit, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Preferred experience in HR services within a consulting environment or HR account management.
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctorate degree.
- Preferred experience in delivering HR services within a consulting environment or HR account management.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
- Member in good standing with the Nevada Bar.

Salary: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
