Lead Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Summary
The lead maintenance technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the facilities, warehouse equipment, and systems of the company. The lead maintenance technician also supervises, and trains assigned maintenance staff, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinates with vendors and contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and assign maintenance tasks and projects to assigned maintenance team members or third parties.
- Inspect and evaluate the condition and performance of the facilities, equipment, and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues and problems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various systems and components, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and conveyor systems.
- Keep records of maintenance activities though company ticketing system.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, such as lifting, bending, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
- Recommend and implement improvements and enhancements to the facilities, equipment, and systems.
- Coordinate and communicate with other departments, vendors, and contractors regarding maintenance needs and issues.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge and proficiency in various maintenance skills and techniques, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and flooring.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Ability to use and operate various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues and problems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
