Assistant Football Coach
Tribal School
Department of Human Services
Contracted: $2,500/Temporary/Part-Time
As an Assistant Coach at Yakama Nation Tribal School you will be required to work in a collaborative effort with your immediate supervisor along with school personnel.
Examples of Work Performed:
Organization of practices that are challenging but age and skill appropriate.
Injury prevention through proper techniques and knowledge in athletic training.
Ordering and inventorying of uniforms and resources/equipment used.
Attendance at all practices and games.
Input on planning for a positive experience for all involved.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students participating.
Professionalism on and off the court at all times-integrity.
Promote sportsmanship and respect for self and others.
Professionally dresses in a manner as a representative of YNTS.
Assist in transporting students when needed.
Collection of data/stats for record keeping along with reporting out to local papers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of safety regulations, rules and policies for sport coaching.
Ability to demonstrate organizational skills along with time management.
Ability to demonstrate positive communication amongst all stakeholders.
General Recruiting Indicators:
Coaching experience while working with youth at the middle or high school levels
Enrolled Yakama Preference but all qualified applicants encouraged to apply.
Special Requirements:
Required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and have the ability to obtain a valid Yakama Tribal Driver's Permit.
Required to pass the WIAA Coach's Rules Clinic.
Must have an updated First Aid/CPR card.
