Position Overview: The Delivery Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of our furniture from the manufacturing facility to our customers. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have some experience in and/or knowledge of how logistics work as it relates to the movement of goods and services
- Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, and delivery of furniture products.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Schedule and manage shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers.
- Work closely with production, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics activities with company goals and customer requirements.
- Maintain and update logistics database and shipment statuses.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation and logistics service providers.
- Handle and resolve any issues or delays in the logistics process, providing timely communication to all stakeholders.
- Prepare and analyze logistics reports, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and process upholstery for customer orders
- Process weekly payroll
- Participate in annual corporate fall event (mandatory)
- All other duties as assigned
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, is preferred, but we will provide on-the-job training.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in the furniture or manufacturing industry, preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, excellent grammar, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite (such as MS Word, MS Excel). A basic understanding of these two programs is required.
- Knowledge of logistics module of inventory software, such as Myriad Software's Pointcentric product, preferred but not required.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of transportation and best practices.
- Ability to lift and move some furniture (<25 lbs) as needed for coordination purposes.
