Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in documenting patient medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and transcribe medical histories, physical examinations, and treatment plans.
- Enter orders for laboratory tests, imaging studies, and medications as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Organize and maintain patient charts, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and up to date.
- Provide medical administrative support such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology is highly desirable.
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare providers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately transcribe medical information in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other medical software applications.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is a plus.
