The Manager of Multilingual Programming and Support position
Reporting to Noble’s Senior Director of Student Services, the Manager of Multilingual Programming and Support is responsible for the continuous improvement of Noble’s English Language Learning programming and staff professional development–how we teach, what we teach, how we view students as learners, and ensuring campuses are compliant with state and federal mandates that are in place to ensure MLs have the best academic supports. It is the Manager of Multilingual Programming and Support's goal – through tackling the job responsibilities listed below – to ensure all Noble campuses are providing affirming and engaging programs essential to acquiring English language proficiency for students to have the best post-secondary opportunities through a four-year college experience or other pathway.
Job Responsibilities
The key responsibility of the Manager of Multilingual Programming and Support is to lead, progress monitor, and support Campus ML Coordinators, campus staff, and Principals as they collectively aim to tackle:
Campus Communication, including writing weekly ML Coordinator newsletters to ensure action items and important communication are provided to all.
Coaching and Guidance, for all campus stakeholders with respect to Noble’s ML Strategic plan to improve compliance and quality programming.
Ongoing advocacy and development, including direct involvement in professional development and building campus expertise through Network and Campus-specific trainings in addition to advocacy for our MLs and supporting Noble’s anti-racist commitments.
Monitoring and supporting compliance tasks for all campuses, including, but not limited to, Title III and other funding; CPS and ISBE compliance metrics; audit preparation and visits
Coordinating assessments and collaboration, such as the State Seal of Biliteracy Testing, ACCESS testing, Screeners, and other Network assessments that may require ML modifications or accommodations for accessibility.
Facilitate and Coordinate Network-wide Bilingual Advisory Committee meetings once per quarter.
Candidate Qualifications/Traits:
Relentless commitment to serving our ML students, families, and their communities
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Deep expertise in teaching and learning (including, but not limited to, ESL/Bilingual instruction, curriculum, brain development, adult learning, and Culturally Relevant & Sustaining Teaching);
Professional Educators License and English as a Second Language Endorsement;
Team management experience, including the ability to effectively manage and partner with a diverse set of people
Experience in and/or competencies needed to oversee ongoing short & long-term change management; including the ability to set a clear vision and then tackle the strategic planning needed to realize that vision.
Bi or Multilingual preferred, though not required.
Direct involvement in Noble’s academic programming (classroom, campus, or Network level) and Noble’s recent antiracism commitment work is preferred, though not required.
