Basic Purpose and Function: Plan the work schedules for plant operations utilizing work order information, available inventory quantities and operator availability. This position is also responsible for coordinating and purchasing raw materials and other resources; monitoring planning of production orders, meeting inventory objectives, customer delivery expectations, operational efficiencies, and company objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Resolve differences between the master production schedule and the facility capacity
- Participates actively in regular discussions, including but not limited to daily production meetings, daily sales meetings, weekly scheduling and inventory meetings
- Interface with Sales and Customer Service teams to provide product availability dates for customers
- Monitor work in process on the production floor and adjust schedule when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, or other manufacturing interruptions
- Perform capacity planning for the facility; departments; and individual work centers
- Prepares reports as needed to assist in the tasks listed above
- Establish vendors to meet company manufacturing material needs, solicit and evaluate bids, evaluate vendor reliability, and negotiate contracts.
- Fill requisitions, locate viable vendor sources, establish price and shipping dates and place orders to meet inventory plan requirements.
- Review and evaluate vendor product performance on an ongoing basis.
- Expedite purchase orders as necessary to ensure that manufacturing production schedules are achieved.
- Plan and determine product material costs for specified periods, based on negotiated contracts.
- Modify and adjust shipping schedules with vendors to meet changes in manufacturing requirements.
- Resolve discrepancies and negotiate order adjustments with vendors. Interview new vendors for new material purchases or to improve sources of supply.
- Keep management informed of changes in material market trends.
- Maintain and process department records.
- Work closely with Engineering to meet material requirements while meeting delivery deadlines with competitive pricing.
- Negotiate favorable payment terms with current and new suppliers.
- Set up stocking levels and re-order points based on current level of business.

Qualifications:
- At least five years of related experience required.
- Exceptional analytical skills and critical thinking. Must think strategically yet operate collaboratively across functions and departments to gather data and develop fact-based analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong overall business acumen and creative thinking along with problem-solving and analytical skills knowledge
- Good time management skills and experience working with high volume data
- Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain.
- Must be self-disciplined and self-motivated and have the ability to comprehend the extensive production operations and schedules
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Infor Cloudsuite Industrial or Syteline.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
