HVACR Instructor Job Description

If so this may be an opportunity for you. This position is temporary but can transition into a permanent position if the fit is right.
ENTECH Advanced Energy Training in Cromwell is seeking full-time Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration instructor. Responsibilities include classroom instruction as well as practical laboratory disciplines of HVACR. Candidates are required to be a Connecticut licensed service technician and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the trade.
The HVACR Instructor is responsible for providing high quality instruction to students through well prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair assessment of learning, clear documentation of student progress, and support of the academic success for all students. The HVACR Instructor will have high energy level and ability to engage students of all ages, excellent presentation skills, receive and respond to ongoing training, development, and feedback, mentor and help guide students of all levels achieve their potential.
Required Experience - to qualify for this position, you should have:
· Good communication skills
· Desire to teach your trade to others
· Five years of field experience
· Experience with DDC and Pneumatic controls
· EPA 608 certification
· Understanding of HVAC tools, equipment and safety
· Electrical, diagrams, wiring
· Refrigeration and Air-conditioning
· Troubleshooting HVACR systems and components
· Blueprint reading in HVAC
· Oil and gas burner service
· Heating Hydronics
· Heat pump systems
· Sheet Metal/Braising/Soldering/Welding
· Air Ducts/Indoor Air Quality
· Installation of HVACR equipment
· Mathematics for HVAC technicians
· Industry standards and codes
· Lesson plan and curriculum development experience
Position Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, CT S1/S2 HVAC Technician License and EPA Universal License minimum 5 years work experience in the HVAC field as a licensed technician, not including apprenticeship.
Must be capable of following written and verbal instructions as well as have ability to work independently with minimal supervision. NATE and/or NORA and a Connecticut teaching certification is a plus.

Upon graduation, our students have the confidence and basic knowledge needed to be an entry-level technician. We also have an Education Center that offers additional programs and seminars for students who want to upgrade to a higher license category, or accumulate CEU’s (Continuing Education Units). ENTECH also provides complete training programs for careers in HVACR, CETP Propane, and CDL licensing.
