We are seeking a compassionate nurse who is dedicated to providing excellent patient care in a team setting. The right candidate will have a background in both nursing and pain management and will be responsible for performing pre-, intra, and post-procedure care and evaluations as well as patient education. A successful candidate will be dedicated to achieving clinic goals, working as a member of a team, and educating patients on pain management risks and prevention. The Surgical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies, pain management processes, and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. Provides direct patient care to a diversified patient population. Applies knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations. Participates in patient and staff education. Demonstrates leadership skills. Demonstrates accountability for own practices as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
Demonstrate technical proficiency as a circulating nurse in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols including procedures performed both in the OR and other procedural areas of the center. Provide pre, post, and intra-procedural care to adult patients with a variety of medical (medical surgical, critical care, emergent, perioperative) needs. Additional duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery
- Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct ·
- Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for procedure ·
- Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure ·
- Assist/circulate procedures in the OR
- Assess patients’ post-operative condition ·
- Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria ·
- Log all findings in patient files ·
- Patient education, pre and post care ·
- Ensure patient comfort ·
- Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
- Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Current RN Licensure in the State of Arizona or compact licensure in the State of practice
- Two years’ experience in a surgery setting preferred
- Moderate Sedation
- Current ACLS/BLS Certification
Pay: $74,000.00 - $118,000.00 per year
