Overview:
Advanced Conservation Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Field Operations Manager to join our team. This role is critical for overseeing our solar installation projects and ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in electrical and general construction work, project coordination experience, and be proficient with computer systems.
Duties:
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the installation teams.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems.
- Ensure all work performed is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC, CEC, and local codes.
- Maintain compliance with all PPE and safety regulations per OSHA and company standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide assistance as necessary.
- Provide leadership, coaching, technical training, and mentorship to the solar installation crew.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
- Ensure the truck is equipped with inventory needed and ensure the vehicle is in proper condition.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports.
- Manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure project completion within the stipulated time frame and budget.
- Communicate with management periodically to update job status.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the installation process.
- Perform other needed job tasks as requested by management.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and 10 years of general construction, with a focus on solar and/or electrical installations.
- Proven experience in project coordination and management.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
- Must have own hand tools and power tools.
- Experience with electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Working knowledge of solar installation, construction, and/or roofing.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and lead a construction crew.
- Capable of working well with others that are on your team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to be comfortable working on roofs in a variety of conditions, including climbing ladders and wearing safety equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout workday.
- Ability to read and understand installation specifications and technical drawings.
- Project Management Professional Certification preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
