middle school age group, our free, comprehensive school-based programs include Academic
Readiness, Career Exploration, STEM, Wellness/Social Emotional Learning, and
the Arts to help build the knowledge and skills children need to succeed, both
in school and in life. Our nationwide chapters provide support services year-round
for students and their families.
A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPACT OUR COMMUNITIES: After-School All-Stars has been awarded a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice + Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and is hiring a Program + Mentor Coordinator position to start in mid-July 2024.
YOU WILL:
- Oversee a new mentoring program, “Rising Stars”, across multiple sites.
- Manage, train, and coach Mentors across local chapter program sites.
- Supervise daily operations of local program implementation and troubleshoot challenges as needed.
- Create supporting topics for “Rising Stars” curriculum.
- Implement training for Mentors as well as other professional development and retention activities. (Collaborate with the ASAS National Programs Team as needed.)
- Research and align effective community-based program partnerships and collaborations to enhance the mentoring program and ASAS Family Wellness Events.
- Serve as the chapter contact for OJJDP Project Manager at the national level.
- Collaborate with National Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Project Manager, Mentors, and local chapter program staff to ensure timely reporting for the local chapter.
- Support Program Manager in: 1) building team culture and team dynamics across all sites; 2) implementation of student recruitment + retention, Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI) strategies, and Safe & Healthy Site Operations Pulse Checks at all partnering school sites; 3) promoting program at sites; 4) general after-school program operations + functionality
- Some travel to sites and events required (mileage is not reimbursable.)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU HAVE:
- A passionate desire to serve youth, families, and the community
- Outstanding oral communication skills
- Highly organized and resourceful
- Successful experience with planning, implementing, and directing activities for youth
- Ability to work autonomously, multi-task, and manage deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively on a team
- Passionate about and committed to ASAS’s mission
- 2+ years of youth mentoring or other relevant program experience
- Bachelor's degree (required)

Pay: $47,840.00 - $52,000.00 per year
