As our Founding Spanish Teacher, you will work in step with our instructional team to fulfill our school-wide vision for how we grow our innovative, high school educational experience for 10th grade students (2023-2024) and execute the curriculum to bring that vision to reality.

Areas of Responsibility Include (but aren’t limited to):
- Creating, refining, + maintaining English/Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum at Rooted School Vancouver
- Collaborating with other content area teachers to design cross-curricular projects and emphasize targeted soft skills across the curriculum
- Meticulously monitoring student data, provide frequent feedback, and targeted student support in response to data
- Consistently implementing and execute student interventions with flexible grouping
- Execute Rooted’s blended learning hybrid (self-directed, academic model with fidelity and consistency
- Actively establishing Rooted's culture among staff, students, partners, and the community-at-large
Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds with a commitment to valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- A completed post-baccalaureate secondary teacher certification and/or a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education or other relevant program.
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate, or can obtain a Washington State Teaching Certificate.
- Knowledge of academic coursework to be taught and teaching methods for the 21st century classroom
- Experience in developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum adaptation, the use of higher level thinking skills, knowledge of differing learning styles and alternative assessment techniques
- Experience with and analyses of state, local, and teacher-developed assessments
