Technology Learning Facilitator
Job Summary: The Technology Learning Facilitator is responsible for training and coaching faculty and staff on their use and integration of technology into lessons/units/work. This role includes overseeing the use and deployment of apps, software and learning management platforms, maintenance and management of online subscriptions and providing technical support to students and staff. The Technology Learning Facilitator will work closely with staff, faculty and students to create engaging and effective learning experiences while integrating technology for both efficiency and innovative purposes. The Technology Learning Facilitator will have up to 5 hours of teaching duties weekly as designated by the Director of Entrepreneurialism, Innovation and Social Impact (EIS)
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Management
- Implement and manage technology relevant policies i.e. acceptable. use policy, BYOD policy, etc.
- Ensure the security and integrity of school data through developing and implementing security protocols, filters and regular monitoring of school devices.
- Install and update educational software and hardware, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Push apps out to student and faculty devices as needed.
Stakeholder Tech Support
- Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance, and resolution of technical issues related to educational hardware and software.
- Provide technical support to students, teachers, parents, and administrative staff, addressing hardware and software issues.
Professional Development Coaching
- Foster a positive and risk taking attitude towards technology use among students and staff.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff and conduct professional development sessions focused on how to integrate technology into the classroom effectively.
Assess the training needs of employees and tailor programs to address identified gaps. Support teachers in using educational software, hardware, and online platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of technology programs and training sessions, making or recommending necessary adjustments.
Design and Teach Tech Integrated Lessons
- Collaborate with the Director of Entrepreneurialism, Innovation and Social Impact and the Director of Technology to meet school wide implementation goals.
Design and teach technology integration lessons to students- up to 5 hours per week. Create instructional materials to support stakeholder learning.
Personal Professional Development
- Stay current with emerging educational technologies and recommend their integration into the curriculum.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in delivering technical training programs.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. Proficiency with e-learning platforms and training software.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
Patience and creativity in developing engaging learning experiences. Ability to engage with and develop relationships with students, colleagues and supervisors.
- Persistent problem solve.
Preferred Skills:
- Prek-8 teaching experience.
- At least 2 years experience in an instructional coaching, technology facilitation role, or equivalent experience.
- Experience coaching adult learners.
- Experience with Apple products and software.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS), databases and interactive whiteboards.
Knowledge of coding, robotics, and other STEAM-related technologies. Familiarity with child development and age-appropriate technology use.
