SUMMARY
The Quality Technician supports the manufacturing of products and validates adherence to quality procedures and standards. The Quality Technician responds to quality problems and supports a cross functional team through root cause and corrective action activities to correct problems and help prevent future occurrences. The Technician assists the Quality Manager and the Operations Team in daily activities as assigned. This position will support plant operations by providing technical assistance, material analysis and process audits/analysis to help control processes and assure standards and specifications are met. This is a high exposure position that will perform a major role in day-to-day problem solving.

- Determines compliance with order specifications and quality control procedures
- Solve quality issues as they arise
- Recognize and place product on hold when it does not meet standards
- Escalate issues and participate in mitigating risks
- Perform quality audits on packaging and shipping load sheets
- Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives between manufacturing operations and engineering
- Perform periodic product analysis
- Analyze returned product and prepare data summary
- Regular / dependable attendance consistent with attendance guidelines is required
- Provide internal/external customers with support in resolving quality issues
- Must be able to assist with problem resolution during new product introductions.
- Involvement in activities such as process documentation, machine capability studies, and defect data collection are required

TECHNICAL SKILLS OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Strong leadership, good communication skills, and self-direction
- Proficient use of inspection equipment and in reading technical drawings
- Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of LEAN principles and manufacturing processes
- Ability to multi-task and manage stressful situations
- Proficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to communicate in a concise, polite and respectful manner with team members
- Must be able to carry out statistical studies and special quality projects
- Must be able to conduct classes and train others on statistical process control techniques, material standards and general quality practices
- Ability to perform simple math.
- Read and interpret product prints
Specialist areas of experience preferred:
- Associate in related discipline with 2 years of experience in quality. High school diploma with 5 years of experience in quality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to bend, lift, squat, twist, stand and move repetitively for 8-10 hours a day.
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds and occasionally
- Work in various adverse conditions such as temperature to complete work assignments
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- PPE Required: Safety Glasses and Hearing Protection on manufacturing floor
