Responsibilities:
The following is a list of specific duties, which are considered to be essential functions of this job. The list is not exhaustive as all duties are subject to change. - Under the direction of the supervisor assists in instruction of individual students or small groups.

As directed by the supervising teacher or specialist, follow lesson plans, prepare and assist students in accessing instructional materials and equipment, and performs clerical duties related to special education.

Assists in general supervision of special education students.

Monitor and control student behavior in accordance with established guidelines.

Assists with meeting the IEP goals of students.

Works confidentially with discretion.

Ability to work in a team and collaborate with colleagues.

Participate in professional development, team meetings, training and workshops.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D., and one year of educational or clerical experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Obtain a passing score of a Paraprofessional Assessment (ParaPro Exam), a general aptitude test that offers certification for prospective and practicing paraprofessionals.

First Aid and CPR certification.
