Provide patron assistance at the Information Desk and give support as needed to the Adult Services Department. Ensures that all requests for information made by library patrons are promptly and accurately responded to by directly providing the information that was requested or directing the patron to the appropriate location in the library or outside of the library where the information can be found.
High school diploma or GED plus two years of coursework in library studies; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability, and skills.

Ability to understand and perform routine library procedures.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with staff and public and maintain effective public relations.

Requires keyboarding, filing, and office programming ability, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, audio-visual equipment, Microsoft Office Suite and LinkCat.
Necessary Special Requirements

Some evening and weekend hours required.

Willingness to maintain skills in above-mentioned areas through active participation in appropriate library skills learning experiences.

Proficiency in Spanish desired.
