Job Title: Account Manager
Reports to: Vice President of Sales and Engineering
Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing individual sales representatives within a business. They play a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with key customers, achieving sales targets, and increasing revenue. Here are some key aspects of the role:
Duties/Responsibilities
1. Client Relationship Management:
o The Sales Account manager will be the primary point of contact between the company and the Accounts side. They will work closely with these contacts to understand their needs, make product installation recommendations, gather project information, and convey the progress of project orders through the company system.
o The Sales Account manager will create a foundation for long-term relationships to ensure future business by nurturing relationships and providing diligent follow-ups.
2. Sales Activities:
o This position will facilitate sales by gathering information for the inside sales team members to create an accurate quote. You will perform quote follow-up to answer questions, assist in providing drawings and marketing materials, and attend online and in-person meetings.
o The goal is to meet or exceed sales targets by effectively promoting products and services, along with nurturing project prospects until project completion.
o You will determine the best dealers that proactively pursue new project leads that arrive via website or phone. You will correspond with dealer personnel to ensure proper information gathering to convert leads to quotes and ultimately orders.
o You will need to understand the company SOP’s and develop product knowledge to have the ability to provide a quick quotation for small projects.
3. Account Management:
o Responsible for guiding and training dealers to educate sales staff to provide them with basic knowledge on company products and pertinent markets.
o You will be responsible for providing regular follow-ups, addressing client inquiries, and resolving issues that contribute to successful account management.
4. Collaboration with Other Departments:
o Collaborate with various departments within the organization. You will work closely with the Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Finance departments to ensure realistic project goals.
o Effective communication and coordination are essential for meeting customer expectations.
5. Business Development:
o You will be responsible for identifying new markets by monitoring incoming information requests and mining deeper into potential user business to look for untapped markets.
o You will attend trade shows to find potential partners for OEM applications.
Skills & Qualities
Strong communication skills with a marketing sense
Understanding how vertical markets operate and their interaction with each other
Mechanical aptitude is helpful, but not required.
Willingness to learn new methods in procedure and running changes
Flexible-minded
Ability to navigate architectural drawings/schematics and comprehend the material within
Respectful interaction with customers and co-workers alike; focused on tasks at hand
Ability to own and manage projects, become your customer’s “Go-To” person
Time management: Balancing multiple accounts and tasks efficiently is crucial
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
