Job Summary:
Facing an alarming rise in suicide across the nation and all demographics, the federal government has adopted a robust framework and a comprehensive, multi-setting approach to suicide prevention and quality improvement in health systems with the aspirational goal of “zero suicides.” This includes funding for states, the District of Columbia, territories, tribes, tribal organizations, and other public health agencies to provide grants to organizations to implement the Zero Suicide intervention and prevention framework for adults throughout health systems.
SAMHSA currently wants to evaluate the impact of these grants and its outcomes. To enhance participation in the evaluation and improve data quality, there is a provision of evaluation training and training assistance to grantees. Aptive is currently looking for Training and Technical Assistance Liaisons to address this requirement.
The selected candidate will provide training, technical assistance, and support to around 25 grantees in fully understanding the purpose and procedures of the national evaluation and how national evaluation data will be analyzed, interpreted, and used. The candidate will also act as liaison between the client and grantee teams and be able to manage the training schedule for efficient and timely use of resources.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide training and training assistance support to federal agency grantees utilizing multimodal resources (e.g., synchronous/asynchronous training, Community of Practice, one-on-one consultations, written documents/video recordings)
- Build and maintain trusting professional relationships with the grantees to facilitate their active engagement in data collection efforts under the oversight of program leaders

Conduct virtual site visits to monitor the quality and uniformity of data collection for the national evaluation and to provide intensive technical assistance to address any deviations from the approved national evaluation procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree

At least 5 years’ relevant experience in the following areas is critical to this requirement:
-
Providing similar training and management of training programs
-
Management of timeline and schedule for large evaluation data collection effort
-
Database management to assure consistency, quality, and integrity across sites (e.g., use of database formats, data cleaning, and quality assurance procedures, back-up systems, data entry procedures, data security, procedures for data transfer to the Contractor)

Management of stakeholders in participating in the evaluation

Experience with consumer, family, and cultural/ethnic sensitivity in conducting evaluations; procedures for collecting client outcome data; procedures for selecting appropriate comparison/control groups; and

Experience in the development of training resources and activities
