The Dane County Airport has a part-time (0.5 FTE) vacancy for a Toll Booth Attendant position in Madison, WI.
This position is on a rotating schedule for 2nd and 3rd shift and includes a weekend schedule.

DEFINITION
Under supervision on assigned shift, collects parking fees, to provide customer assistance, perform maintenance work and perform other work as required at parking facilities. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak periods, balance the workload, or in emergency situations.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Collects proper fees from parking lot users and issues correct change. Prepares daily revenue and cash balance reports. Assists patrons in locating their vehicles. Performs daily vehicle inventory. Keeps parking facility clean and in working order. Assists in light maintenance of parking facility (e.g., summer and winter ground maintenance, upkeep of tollhouse, tollbooth, parking ramp, entrance and exit plazas).
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education, Training and Experience:
Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year of cash handling experience. Security or data entry experience is preferred.
Certification and Licenses:
Access to personal transportation and eligibility to hold or possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license. A good driving record of at least three years’ duration as evidenced by freedom from multiple or serious traffic violations or accidents.
Special Requirements:
Candidates who reach the final selection stage will be subject to an FBI criminal history records check, TSA security assessment, employment history verification, and a driving record background check. Must be available for work at any time including nights, holidays, weekends, and during snow and other airport emergencies. Ability to work rotating, floating shifts. Routinely works alone after midnight performing inventory and monitoring parking facilities. Also, refer to ‘Physical and Environmental Work Requirements’ section.

Physical and Environmental Work Requirements
Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, lift, bend, push, reach, climb and crouch. Ability to frequently climb in and out of a pickup truck. Ability to stand or sit for long periods. Ability to perform manual work in severe weather conditions. Ability to use hands or feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulations, pushing and pulling and operating controls and equipment. Ability to operate a computer at night with limited lighting. Ability to see and hear within normal ranges with or without corrective devices. Ability to work in various temperatures. Ability to work in severe weather conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to handle cash and maintain simple records related to transactions. Ability to maintain good public relations. Ability to utilize various computer software. Ability to reorganize daily work depending on staffing or activity in area to meet customer needs. Must be safety conscious at all times regarding physical activity (driving, lifting, moving, emptying trashcans), and the safety of others. Ability to work around the public and other employees as a team member. Ability to carry out written, oral or diagrammatic instructions. Proficient addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills. Mental ability to address potential adverse or negative situations that may occasionally arise. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills to effectively interact with members of the public, Airport tenants and County employees. Ability to communicate using two-way radio. Ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, to accept constructive criticism and to be able to project a positive image of the facility to customers. Ability to accept responsibility and work with minimal supervision. Must be dependable, reliable and have a previous history of good attendance and punctuality. Ability to attend staff meetings and training meetings as required.
