Job Description Overview
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the scheduling, planning, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure assigned projects are completed on time and within specification. The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of assigned projects and will establish criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project. This includes going from conception to completion, including providing project estimates and planning along with ensuring that project schedules and budgets are met.
Responsibilities

The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading the initial planning stage by collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, or other involved stakeholders; develop detailed description of jobs and materials and budget necessary to complete project.

Responsible for internal collaboration, review, and integration of project development

Responsible for the execution, management, and collaboration of project procurement activities (which includes preparation and negotiation of requirements and design specifications, proposals, quotes, contracts, change orders, and invoices with General Contractors, Designers, Procurement, and Vendors)

Review plans, inspects fabrications, conducts investigations, and provides recommendations as necessary to assure compliance with established requirements, regulations, guidelines, and procedures

Schedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and budget the time necessary to meet each deadline.

Prepares and submits budget estimates for each project assigned

Monitors progress and performance of all capital projects against annual capital budget and regularly communicates concerning budget progress and costs for each project

Plans, coordinates, organizes, and directs activities regarding the construction and maintenance of assigned structures, facilities, and systems.

Partners with team in the selection of vendors and oversees contractors and subcontractors performing work to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.

Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.

Evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, and schedule of the projects.

Collaborates with clients, supervisory staff, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issues.

Effectively works through all necessary actions caused by delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.

Develops and maintains good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required

2+ years of recent and related work experience required

2 years of experience partnering with or leading negotiations with contract/vendors, procurement, and legal processes

Construction Manager certification by the American Institute of Constructors or Construction Management Association of America preferred.

PMP certification preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Monday.com, or related software.

Understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.

Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, work well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
