Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Training and Development Specialist will work with the partners, SMEs, education providers, and contractors to develop high-quality training for professionals leading to CEUs and Certifications.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Design, develop, and/or conduct employee training and/or organizational development programs and activities in order to enhance and build the capacity of an agency, and the state’s workforce, and to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
- Confers with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors.
- Develops and organizes training manuals, multimedia visual aids, online and web-based learning, and other educational materials.
- Plans, develops, and provides training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Recruit, enroll, and track progress of job coaches and other professionals attending sponsored training activities.
- Provide support and technical assistance to training participants and organizations.
- Manage training materials, enrollment, and completion of training through a learning management system.
- Oversee the budget and approve stipends and cost reimbursements to professionals for attendance and completion of professional development activities
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Licensing & Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in education business, human resources, organizational development, or another related field.
Certification in adult learning, instructional design or a Kansas Teaching License is preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in education, instructional design or related field.
- One year experience developing online, self-paced learning modules using Articulate.
- One year experience manage and coordinating professional development activities.
