Job purpose
Come join our team to learn and grow with Capital-Colonial Trailways. We have full and part time Professional Motor Coach operator positions available. We are looking for skilled Class B CDL drivers to work closely with all of our team members to serve our customers with excellence and contribute to operating a safe, high quality and profitable location.
Responsibilities:
- Safely, efficiently, and courteously drive all company vehicles including Motor Coaches of at least 45’ in length on public highways and required private property, including through larger cities and rural areas, in all weather conditions; knowledge and proper application of defensive driving techniques.
- Treat all passengers, company personnel, and others associated with your assigned work in a courteous and professional manner. Contributes to a team environment.
- Safely drive motorcoaches, and other company vehicles, as dispatched on regularly scheduled inter-city service runs, charter trips, tours, or any other trips as required. This may include, as required, waiting with the motorcoach for your passengers to return from their scheduled activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and interface with other drivers and company personnel in order to execute the dispatched trip as a cohesive unit. This will require advance trip planning, and communication with others prior to performing the driving duties.
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance as directed by Capital Trailways management and/or maintenance personnel. Properly fuels the vehicle when needed and routinely check all fluid levels and pressures.
- Properly documents hours of service logs, inspection records, charter/tours dispatch and envelopes, organized receipt management for all expenses, and other required paperwork. Complete all required paperwork in a legible and neat manner and in a timely fashion.
- Calls/check in availability with company dispatch and maintenance personnel frequently, as required by company policies.
- Baggage handling is a necessary duty for this position. Must be able to load/unload baggage for customers as needed. Maintain records as required so that secure baggage control is maintained at all times.
- Driver training and continued education is required. Attend all driver and safety training meetings as directed by your supervisor and referenced by company policy.
Qualifications include:
- Class A or B CDL with Air Brakes and Passenger endorsement
- Satisfactory passing of annual DOT physical/med card.
- Knowledge & practical use of the US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to the driving of Commercial Vehicles.
- Clean motor vehicle driving record
- Must possess excellent customer service skills

- Ability to work independently
- Quality effective oral and written communication skills
- Motorcoach driving experience preferred but training is available for those who qualify
- Ability to load / unload baggage, equipment and packages up to 50 lbs
