SUMMARY: As the Engineering Technical Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for all item master data and bill of material (BOM) updates, including entering into the ERP system. Responsibilities include proper record keeping controls, communications, cost modeling and item master data management responsibilities. You will be working with our engineering team to create a variety of technical drawings and 3D models that contribute to the design process.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Responsible for the accurate creation and maintenance of all item master and bills of material data in the ERP system including both finished goods and raw materials.
· Collaborate to investigate inventory and cost variances and updating item master or bills of material.
· Work with Manufacturing, Engineering and Product Management to ensure that the bill of material has the correct structure, components, quantities, and costs.
· Create technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D and 3D digital models of mechanical equipment designs, using measurements, specifications, and additional data from engineering team.
· Develop 2D drawings of design specifications for mechanical equipment and components to assist in planning and production.
· Use CAD programs to combine schematics and design data into accurate 3D models.
· Analyze design documents and plans to verify dimensions and materials and coordinate with engineers to resolve any errors.
· Assist engineers during initial planning by creating on-the-fly design sketches and models for analysis and modification.
· Collaborate with engineers, production technicians and clients as necessary to identify design problems and develop effective solutions.
· Read and interpret engineering data and customer specifications, including industry codes and specifications for valves, flanges, fittings, engineering layouts, etc.
- Able to meet deadlines, concurrently balancing multiple project priorities, develop the work and interface with others in a team environment
· Responsible for providing technical support to Sales, Manufacturing, Quality Departments, and vendors as required.
· Participate in Engineering Change Process, updating all affected drawings, BOMs, ERP details and change distribution.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
· Associate degree in drafting.
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent design software.
· Knowledge in industry standards and practices (i.e., ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM, NACE, etc.).
· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and organization skills.
· Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities.
· Ability to use computer applications, such as spreadsheets, word processing documents, databases, and email programs.
