Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for individuals to thrive in
- Promote and uphold resident rights and dignity
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for residents
- Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans
- Assist with transportation to appointments or community outings
- Document and report any incidents or changes in residents' behavior or health
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and related behaviors
- Proficient in medication administration and first aid procedures
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
- Experience in childcare or working with individuals with special needs is preferred
