A well-established underground utility contractor and is seeking to add an Underground Utility Estimator to our team.
Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of construction experience in Underground Utilities-water, sewer and storm on private or public projects
- Must have knowledge in MAG Standard Specifications and Standard Details, as well as local supplements to MAG Specifications
- Must have thorough knowledge of the estimating process
- Must have excellent organization skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to work under stressful situations
- Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision
- Experience using various computer systems with preferences in HCSS Heavy Bid, Planswift, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel
Responsibilities:
The Estimator works closely with the Chief Estimator and is primarily responsible for performing quantity estimates as it relates to underground utility - water, sewer, and storm
- Completes take off per plans and specifications
- Creates accurate take offs from drawings using Planswift
- Requests, compares and summarizes quotes from vendors
- Estimates production and crew sizes using HCSS Heavy Bid
