Bark Social
A bout Bark Social:
Dogs. Beer. Coffee – Bark Social brings out the fun between dogs and humans with a private, monitored off-leash dog park and an indoor/outdoor beer garden & coffee bar. Featuring a play space, casual eating and curated dog merchandise, our goal is to engage, delight, and support the dog-loving communities we serve.
Bark Social has two locations open (DC and Baltimore) and is opening Philadelphia this spring. Locations four, five, and six are in the works.
Our need:
We are looking for Bark Rangers to ensure our guests and dogs feel welcome, special, safe, and comfortable at all times.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Safety:
- Remain active and alert. This is, without a doubt, the most important part of your job. When dogs are moving, you should be moving with them. If you are engaging with a guest/their dog or communicating with another team member, you can still be aware of your surroundings.
- Break it up. I f you pick up on behavior signals that could escalate, insert yourself between the dogs. If this doesn’t de-escalate the situation, use your training to intervene. If you are not comfortable inserting yourself between dogs, this isn’t t he role for you.
- Monitor alcohol consumption. If someone without a wristband is consuming alcohol, notify a manager immediately. If a guest who has been drinking is or appears to be mistreating a dog, notify a manager immediately.
○ Ensure all dogs are collared and unleashed.
- Communicate to guests with dogs 15lbs and under our policy regarding the small dog park if their dog is barking or showing any signs of anxiety or aggression
● Customer Service:
- B ark Social is not just a dog park, it is an EXPERIENCE. Welcome guests and connect with them. By getting to know our members and other visitors as well as t heir dogs, we make them feel special while building trust and confidence in all t hat Bark Social stands for. This also helps us to learn more about each dog’s behavior/personality/history, etc.
● Cleanliness:
- Ensure all available dog water bowls are full, clean and spread throughout the park.
- Sweep mulch and hair from the patio (including the area underneath auto-fill water bowls).
- Spot clean/dilute urine around the park.
- Bus and wipe down park tables, rearranging furniture as needed
