Field Operators are members of crews that actively engage in monitoring rates and fluid levels in equipment, sampling and testing fluids, rigging up and operating fleet equipment. They work at various onshore and offshore locations and are responsible for assisting the crew in delivering flawless service execution while operating well testing equipment at our customer’s facilities.
Field Operators prepare in advance of their deployment to understand project scenarios in depth. Preparations include studying well information, drawings, historical data, water conditions, main challenges, customer goals, etc.
Field Operators build their technical knowledge by working closely with Field Supervisors in order to become proficient in the diverse well testing and water treatment processes and equipment operations.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit excellent safety leadership in the workplace, consistent with company, and site-specific QHSE goals and requirements
- Assist in the preparation and qualification of well test equipment before and after each job
- Operate standard well test equipment on location in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and site-specific procedures
- Perform BS&W, chloride, water weight, API oil gravity tests on fluids to determine separation and quality.
- Prepare all required job reports including daily activities, test results, equipment performance, etc.
- Operate field laboratory test equipment in accordance with SOP and site-specific procedures
- Perform routine maintenance, safety, and accuracy checks on assigned equipment
- Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting chokes, separators, and tanks.
- Assist in repair of controllers, control valves, manual valves, chokes, and any other equipment associated with operating well test equipment.
Experience/Capabilities
- Technical Associate Degree, ex-military career, high school diploma +2 years of Deep Water well testing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver's license (driving history will be used to qualify applicants)
- Willingness to work offshore one onshore in harsh climates, without geographical restrictions
- Ability to lift 60 lb
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts while deployed on projects
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Must have TWIC or be able to obtain TWIC
