(MMCVB) is a non-profit 501 (c) (6) that serves as the official destination marketing organization for the City of Madison and Morgan County, Georgia. MMCVB works to advance Morgan County’s $60+ million tourism industry that supports more than 550 local jobs.
MMCVB promotes tourism through marketing initiatives including brand awareness/advertisement, participation in regional and state destination marketing associations, role as Camera Ready Liaison for the film industry, operation of the Madison Morgan County Welcome Center and more.
The Madison Morgan County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MMCVB) is looking for a dynamic, creative, tech-savvy individual to join our team and help advance our vision of being a “must-visit” destination. MMCVB promotes economic development and vitality through travel and overnight stays and encourages significant participation by visitors in the local tourism economy.
The Social Media/Marketing Specialist will expertly promote the brand by providing support in the areas of social media management, content creation and marketing. This position also has the opportunity to participate in state, regional and local organizations focused on advancing tourism.
Responsibilities include, but are not exclusive to:
- Understanding the brand, brand guidelines, goals and audiences to create tailored marketing materials and messaging;
- Managing the development, publishing and maintenance of inspiring, high-quality content (blog posts, asset listings, print, images and video) to reach and engage target audiences across all platforms and channels;
- Coordinating and maintaining an ongoing and comprehensive image library, understanding usage rights and procurement avenues;
- Maintaining active accounts across key platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest; monitoring content analytics and creating reports on overall social media performance;
- Assists the Director in meeting goals and effectively executing the annual Marketing Plan; utilizes task management tools including editorial calendar and Asana to stay on top of deadlines;
- Assists with sales and distribution for annual destination guide;
- Compiles monthly reports for board of directors, city, and county;
- Assists Director with other various projects and administrative tasks, as assigned.
Skills and Preferred Qualifications:
· College degree in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Hospitality, or other related field;
· Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write in a specific voice and style;
· Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with demanding deadlines; proven aptitude for quick, creative thinking with acute attention to detail;
· Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google platforms;
· Experience with Meta Business Suite and/or Wordpress; Graphic design (Canva) and basic Adobe Photoshop skills a plus;
· Flexibility - Some events may require your presence outside of regular work hours; Must be able to lift 20lbs (boxes of brochures).
Compensation:
Up to $20 per hour, depending on experience. Simple IRA retirement plan, including 3% company match. Ability to work remotely with Director approval, at least one day per week must be served on site.
