Mechanical Repair Technician - Senior

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Repair Technician to join our Technical Support team. You will be responsible for supporting, troubleshooting and repairing high speed digital printers, finisher and presses. Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues related to Afinia products directly with end-customers and dealers via phone, ticketing system, and e-mail
- Perform hands-on mechanical repair/test of Afinia products including label printers, 3D printers, finishers, presses and converting accessories
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems for corrective action
- Resolve customer technical issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Proactively respond and follow-up to all customer requests regarding Afinia products
- Effectively document all correspondence in internal database for reference and tracking
- Work with key suppliers to resolve product quality issues and facilitate vendor returns/replacement
- Conduct technical service/repair training for Dealer service engineers and Afinia technical support staff
- Occasional travel to provide product demos/training at tradeshows and customer sites
- Attend “train-the trainer” programs to facilitate product knowledge transfer between outside suppliers and internal support staff
- Perform quality control and life-cycle testing/documentation for new product development
Qualifications and Skills
- Two-year Degree/Certification/Technical School and 3 – 5 years experience, or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years experience
- Hands-on equipment repair and troubleshooting experience related to electro-mechanical devices
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude to systematically troubleshoot complex equipment
- Extensive experience providing hardware/software technical support via phone/e-mail
- Familiarity with current computer hardware /software systems
- Excellent problem resolution, conflict management, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to professionally interact with customers
- Clear/concise writing skills for documenting test data, product information guides, and user manuals
- On-site customer repair and/or installation/training a plus
- Proactive team player with a “roll-up the sleeves” attitude
