The Project Coordinator Position
Sunnova Energy is currently searching for a Project Coordinator to be responsible for providing daily support to the installation and service management of internal and external projects assigned to Expert Services. This individual will be responsible for actively overseeing projects that require various activities to accomplish installation milestones occurring anywhere from the start through completion of a project. The role will also be a point of contact for our participating dealer network.
Project Coordinator Responsibilities
- Track, manage, update, and report on internal and external projects obtained by Expert Services. Record updates and completion milestones to our internal CRM and external spreadsheets to ensure project status communication is visible.
- Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and third-party vendors to ensure all applications, designs, and required documents are properly filled and submitted to the respective entity for review and approval. Coordinate with internal partners to submit and receive Permission to Operate (PTO) from the local utility within established timeframes.
- Collaborates with departmental managers to develop tactics that address variations in timelines from utilities, AHJ, and other external circumstances that affect the company’s capability to maintain duration metrics.
- Coordinate and manage the assignment and completion of pre-defined scope to third-party vendors. This will include work order generation, project management, and deliverable retrieval for each project assigned.
- Collaborates with external dealers to maintain communication and ensure service agreements are adhered to.
- Produce weekly reports and impromptu reports as defined by management.
- The coordinator is responsible for performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 1+ years of professional experience in solar system installation operations, project management and related roles
- 1+ years of routine use of Excel for data extraction, analysis and graphic communication of insights required.
- Strong communications skills and the ability to create relationships with outside partners to effectively influence behavior required.
- Very strong organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills required.
- Ability to adapt and work in an open, fast-paced, collaborative environment both in-office and remotely required.
- Team player that behaves ethically, with highest degree of integrity
Preferred Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college or university in a business-related field
- 2-3 years’ experience in residential solar projects, field operations, and project management.
- Utility and/or Permit processing experience preferred.
- Experience in Smartsheet
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Salesforce software experience or working knowledge required.
- Proven use of analytical skills with understanding of business concepts
i.e., forecasting performance metrics, SLAs
- Ability to make insightful and relevant recommendations based on findings from data analytics required.
