Hands-on Production Manager will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the facility to ensure objectives are met. This position is responsible for all production, distribution, quality and administrative activities of the manufacturing plant.
Organizational Relationships:
1. Reports to Director of Production
2. Supervises Production Supervisors, Production Leads, and Production Workers
3. Interfaces with all management and plant employees as necessary to fulfill its responsibilities.
4. Interacts with all Plant Employees and Corporate personnel as required to optimize key responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
Provide strategic direction - responsible for the facility budget and implementation; establish key metrics and monitor performance; provide strategic direction for the facility.
Provide daily leadership - plan and manage production capacity; develop staffing plan; provide daily supervision of the leadership team; establish and maintain a strong safety culture; responsible for the overall quality efforts of the facility and adherence to the applicable quality programs; establish and monitor appropriate service metrics to meet the customer requirements; ensure that all individuals are treated fairly and with respect; provide leadership and direction to everyone in the facility.
Oversee continuous improvement activities - responsible for the overall continuous improvement efforts supporting lean manufacturing; establish Continuous Improvement Teams to targeted areas for improvement.

Required Credentials :
- Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing management experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, conditional formatting, graph’s)
- Initiative and competence to anticipate and respond to issues along with the ability to identify and implement changes as needed
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles a plus
- Excellent communication skills, personal accountability, and a keen sense of urgency
- Training and supervisory experience (progression – how quickly promoted)
- Strong ability to communicate to multiple levels within the organization
- Work independently

You Must Be Able To :
May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.
The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
