Job Title: In-Home Caregiver for Seniors
Job Summary: An In-Home Caregiver for seniors is responsible for providing personal care and support services to elderly individuals who need assistance with activities of daily living. The caregiver's duties may include assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, medication management, light housekeeping, and companionship. The caregiver is expected to promote the senior's independence and wellbeing, and to ensure their safety and comfort at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to seniors, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the senior's healthcare provider.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the senior, taking into account any dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, dishes, and tidying up the senior's living space.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to the senior, engaging in conversation, playing games, or watching TV together.
- Accompany the senior to medical appointments, social events, or errands, as needed.
- Monitor the senior's health and wellbeing, and report any changes or concerns to their healthcare provider or family members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the senior's care and activities, and communicate effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and other caregivers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification preferred.
- Experience working with seniors, preferably in a home care or assisted living setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with seniors, family members, and healthcare providers.
- Reliable, compassionate, and patient.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and transferring seniors who may have mobility issues.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions: An In-Home Caregiver for seniors typically works in the senior's home, and may work full-time or part-time hours, depending on the senior's needs. The work can be physically demanding, and may require the caregiver to lift or transfer seniors who have mobility issues. The caregiver may be exposed to a variety of environmental factors, such as dust, pet hair, or household chemicals. The caregiver must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and may be required to travel with the senior to medical appointments or other outings.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
